We are the Potterville Volunteer Fire Department.
We provide fire and rescue services for the people of the town of Scituate along with 3 sister departments with in the town. Potterville is a village located within the town of Scituate, Rhode Island. Incorporated in 1948 the department has grown from a two door wooden barn with used and donated equipment to a 4 bay masonry building. The majority of our equipment was purchased either in whole or in part with funds from grants, as well as fund raising, donations, and tax dollars. We have in the past 6 years aggressively sought out grant money to better our situation as well as the situations of the other 3 departments in our town. Scituate is a town of approximately 10,000 inhabitants located 20 miles west of Providence, Rhode Island. Scituate is a small rural New England town made up of mostly residential neighborhoods with light industrial and commercial industries, and just happens to contain the largest water shed in the state providing 60% of the states potable water. The watershed is located in the center of town and is surrounded by forestland on all sides.

To provide emergency services to our citizens. To remain a hub of our community and provide assistance and information to minimize the instances injuries and property loss. To encourage citizen involvement as to perpetuate our volunteer nature.
